MASTERWORK5 — Terms & Conditions

Welcome to MASTERWORK5, where timeless craftsmanship meets a touch of mischief. By placing an order with us, browsing the site, or engaging with our services, you agree to the Terms & Conditions outlined below.

1. Made-to-Order Artwork

All paintings offered by MASTERWORK5 are hand-painted on demand by our partner artists in Shenzhen, China.

This includes:

  • Old Masters
  • Renaissance icons
  • Modern works
  • Contemporary pieces
  • Graffiti and street art interpretations
  • Portraits or artworks made from your own photos or digital files

Each painting is created in the original size unless otherwise requested.

Our artists aim for approximately 90% visual accuracy to the reference image — not through grids or projectors, but through skill, training, and frankly astonishing craft.

Because each piece is painted individually, minor variations are part of the artistic process and not considered defects.

2. Catalogue & Custom Requests

The catalogue displayed on MASTERWORK5 is only a small selection of what is possible.

If you have a special request, a personal image, or a particular artwork in mind, simply contact Customer Service — we will confirm feasibility, timeline, and pricing.

3. Production Time

Hand-painted artworks require time.

Our artists typically need:

• 2–4 weeks to complete a painting, depending on complexity, size, and style.

This estimate excludes drying time (if needed), packaging, and shipping.

4. Pricing & Payment Terms

All prices are listed in the currency shown on the website unless otherwise stated.

Payment structure:

  • 50% deposit at the time of order
  • 50% final payment upon completion of the artwork (before shipping)

Production begins only after the deposit is received. Shipping occurs after the final payment is confirmed.

5. Shipping & Delivery

We offer free worldwide shipping from Shenzhen via:

  • DHL
  • FedEx
  • UPS

Artworks are shipped rolled in a protective tube, without a frame, to ensure safe transport and reasonable shipping costs.

Framing

We can arrange framing upon request, but shipping framed artworks is expensive and not recommended unless necessary.

Once your artwork is shipped, you will receive tracking information.

Delivery times vary by region and courier. Customs processing (if applicable) may introduce delays outside our control.

6. Returns, Cancellations & Refunds

Because every piece is custom-made, the following applies:

Cancellations

  • Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of the deposit payment for a full refund.
  • After 24 hours, cancellations are not possible, as the artists begin work.

Returns

Hand-painted custom artwork cannot be returned. All sales are final once the order is completed.

Damage in Transit

If an artwork arrives damaged:

  1. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photos of the damage and packaging.
  3. We will offer a replacement or repair solution, depending on the situation.

7. Accuracy & Artistic Variations

Our artists do not copy pixel-by-pixel; they recreate artworks by hand.

As such:

  • Variations in color, brushwork, or detail are normal.
  • These natural deviations are part of the art, not defects.
  • Reference images used on the site are for illustration only.

By ordering, you acknowledge and accept these inherent characteristics of hand-painted work.

8. Use of Images

When you submit your own photo or artwork for painting, you confirm that:

  • You own the rights to the image, or
  • You have legal permission to use it.

MASTERWORK5 is not responsible for copyright disputes arising from user-submitted images.

9. Import Duties & Taxes

Depending on your location, customs duties or taxes may apply upon delivery.

These are the buyer’s responsibility and vary by country. MASTERWORK5 does not collect or prepay customs fees unless explicitly stated.

10. Customer Service

If you have questions, custom requests, special sizing requirements, or need help with your order, our Customer Service is here to assist.

We pride ourselves on clear communication — before, during, and after production.

11. Changes to These Terms

MASTERWORK5 may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current version.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of Hong Kong SAR.

Any disputes will be handled accordingly.
